Welcome to the Adventure!

Hallo! Herzlich Willkommen to the new Almost Europe Adventures! We're finally finished with our migration to our new store site (almosteurope.net, where you can view all our exquisite products), and it was time to take this site in a new direction - so get ready.

Here you can still browse our extensive selection of fine woodcarvings, crystal, and ceramics, as well as pewter ornaments, books, candles, and other exquisite pieces from the fine manufacturers that you know us for:

Whether you're looking for hand-crafted woodcarvings like this lovely Girl with Flowers, wonderfully hand-made Nativities, or striking  Kisslinger crystal

. . . when you're ready to order, be sure to visit our shop site, AlmostEurope.net. But stay here and explore, if you'd like to take part in our adventure.

The Adventure Begins!

We're updating more than our look. Going beyond our previous pages on Germanic culture, candle care, or our pewter primer, in the upcoming weeks and months, in addition to links to our shop and all the marvelously handcrafted pieces you've come to know Almost Europe for, we're going to be bringing you the tales behind those pieces!

For every hand-crafted piece, there's a story. That's the new motto here at Almost Europe Adventures, and this new site will feature those stories -- sometimes an account of the history or tradition behind a piece, sometimes an introduction to the fine craftsmen who create them, sometimes the tale of how we found a piece and brought it to you, and sometimes, just an amusing little chestnut.

For our current customers, this will all pull back the curtain and provide a glimpse into the way a carving or casting has made its way from Austria, Bavaria, Switzerland, or Italy to you. For those of you finding your way here for the first time, we hope you discover something you love or least something entertaining as this old traveler reminisces and spins some of his yarns.

Thank you for visiting. Take a look around, contact us with any questions or stories of your own, and please, check back frequently and see what’s new!
